A little history for you.....

Forgive me if I shouldn't do this, but I didn't have my own blog in 2008/2009 and was posting on http://andmorebjp08.blogspot.com. I wanted to record my earlier BJP's in one place and I thought that some of you might like to visit my retro posts! If you're interested, you can see the first six months over at my blog! It was my my first year participating in the Bead Journal Project and my first real attempts at journaling with encrusted bead embroidery (and a little mixed up media thrown in for good measure). My BE experience was very limited prior to that! I'll be posting the rest of my triangles next weekend.

July BJP Finally Done

Better late than never, I guess. I had planned on being done early with this but that didn't happen. Between getting signed up for classes and then having to walk my 24 year old through the same thing and babysitting, there seemed to be no time. Plus, it got put away and it was a case of out of sight out of mind...

Storage and Display Idea

I've been wondering what I would do with my 12 BJP pieces when done, and it felt like a dilemma. I don't want them to get dusty, yet I want them to be available for viewing. However, today I found this 9" wooden cabinet with hinged door on a Jo Ann's clearance shelf for around $3.00 (after taking 70% off an already discounted price!). It's 3-1/2" x 5" dimensions are perfect for stacking my 3" x 4" BJP pieces. These 2 photos show my first 6 pieces inside with plenty of room for 6 more by year's end. I love the little cut-out star on the door. I have renewed interest in the year's projects now that I feel good about a way to store and display them!

Yes, I'm behind again, after finally catching up in May. June's piece took hours and hours. But I have started July and hope to have it finished soon.

June is busting out all over!

I'm so happy to have my June piece done!  It gave me a chance to experiment with making some more faux leather from craft felt.  You can see the full piece and the details about it at Beading Arts :-)
