Hi all - just finished my June piece, right in time for me to leave for summer camp (where I teach enameling and beading). This month my piece includes an enamel using the reticulated foils technique where gold and silver foils are layered and fused together. Read more about it and see the enamel in it bigger on my website.
I'll be making my next enamel at camp. BTW - any of you with 8-16 year olds, this camp is an art camp (both visual and performing) and really great. And for those of you with college age kids, we take counselors from all over the world. Really fun! Check out Camp Med-O-Lark.
Have a beady good day. Karen

Beautiful! I love the colors and really enjoyed reading about how you made the enamel. Amazing!
Awesome, once again! Seems I comment basically the same thing all the time, but words often fail. Your pieces are always beautiful and imaginative with colors I wish I had the eye to choose. Beautiful!
Karen, your piece is fantastic!!!! Just beautiful workmanship and design!!!
I love this! The colors and workmanship are wonderful!
Spectacular piece, the enamel is shiny and colorful, like looking at earth, the surround circles remind me of "stars" that I shining brightly & the little triangular pieces make me think of "candy".
Love the style, design & the colors!!
Oh Karen it's beautiful! Wonderful piece! I hope that you have a lovely new week!
Hugs and happy beading...

amazing piece! SO beautiful. Also looked at your site Karen and your other work. You do just beautiful BEAUTIFUL!! work.
I knew nothing about this journal. I would really love to be involved in this. Robin Atkins was the first book I got when I was interested in Bead Embroidery so all this inspired by Robin, what a fantastic idea. I am going to absolutely check back if and when the registration opens for 2011 and see if I can get involved.
Thanks Karen, and everyone else on this blog site for sharing your fabulous pieces.
Beautiful piece. Its so wonderful that you are sharing your passion and talent with children. That has to be so rewarding.
That is a *stunning* centerpiece!
Gorgeous! This piece is so lively and has so much texture that it makes me happy just to look at it.

Lovely piece, Karen... really lovely! In the close-up on your website, I see a little fairy princess with a crown in the foil work. The colors and designs of the piece are also in keeping with that interpretation! Have fun at camp!
