March is Done

I just posted March project! Take a look at it here.

March BJP

My March project came together from an experience in Tucson. I visited the African Village and was bartering with a vendor who was watching a stall that did not belong to him. I asked him prices and he kept screaming "BaBa". Come to find out BaBa means brother. After 4 or 5 times of unsuccessfully finding BaBa, we left. I decided to make my own BaBa in tribute of the missing vendor.

BaBa features a polymer clay face. The bead colors represent African mudcloth. BaBa's hair is done with size 11 seed beads with small brass rings purchased at African Village. BaBa hangs from an Ndebele rope. See BaBa at www.artntheheart.blogspot.com.

My little March Lamb

Well, I have finished March! Yippee! I'm so excited and really feeling absolutely liberated by this entire process. I think my little girls are having fun hanging out together (if you want to see the flickr picture of the 3 of them click here).

Otherwise, pop over to my blog and see my March girl! She's obviously dreaming of flowers!

I am finding this experience AND this group such a fabulous support system! Thanks all!

It's springtime!

I posted my April piece to my blog here if you care to take a look.  It is definitely a departure from what I normally do, and coming off of last month's very emotional and kinda dark theme, I wanted to lighten up the mood.  I hope I succeeded!  Thank you for taking the time.  Happy Spring to you!

March done - A Round Peg In a Square Hole

Hi all - finished my March piece. Check it out. I beaded the ruffle around the design in the fabric, which I hardly ever do, but this one was so pretty. Also, the middle fringe is what I originally had in mind, but the 1st one I did had a mistake and I liked it so much I decided to keep them this way. As my friend CA says: Oops Perfect! I'm in Florida now and leave in two days so I guess I won't start April until I get home. Already have my enamel ready for it. Hope you are all enjoying making your pieces as much as I do.

Have a Beady Good Day all. Karen, The Bead Hearted Babe

March project is finished

I never knew how beautiful the ocean was in winter until we moved to New England about 25 years ago. Now it's one of my favorite sites.  My March piece is a bracelet like the others, but this one celebrates the flotsam and jetsom of a New England coastline.

Another update on my blog.

I am moving along on my February BJP. I would love it if you would take a peek and let me know what you think! Please check out my progress on my blog A Beadiful Mess. Thank you!

Taking a deep breath in March

My word for March is 'breathe' -- what a wonderful word that is.  If you'd like, please check the finished piece out at artjourney.  The sun is shining today and spring is rapidly on its way.

A behinder's February page

Just a little late, right? Not too bad. I keep waiting for life to slow down a little but I'm thinking that's not going to happen. In any case, I finished my February page, which you can see on my blog. It's a simple page, but close to my heart.

I'm just totally blown away by everybody's work. What a great group to be part of.

Tranquility--February BJP

I started my February BJP on February 1 and finished it February 28. I'm somewhat amused that I again found the beads telling me what I was journaling about. Come on over to Crackpot Beader to see my page.

And let me know if I should 'fess up to my grandsons that I rooted for the Canadian Olympic hockey team.

Making some progress....

But no where near what I would like to have done. I have had lots going on lately and cant seem to find the time to work on my project nearly as much as I would like. I have updated my blog for anyone who would like to take a peek at it, you can go here. I am really enjoying looking at every ones work, such inspiration.

The Beginning of March

I'm so very happy to see March arrive -- last month was a difficult one for me.  I've picked a March word out of my jar and it is 'breathe'.  I'm ahead of myself (probably trying to rush spring).  If you get a chance check out my blog at artjourney to see the beginning of this month's project.  More to come later...
